What does "Density" do?

Hi. I am a newbie with Balancer, and was wondering what the Density slider does at the bottom of the screen? Also, what does Lock do?

Hi!
The Density slider allows to selectively control densities of different groups, material subgroups, meshes or sub-meshes. You can also lock some of the sub-meshes so they won't be simplified.

Ah, got it. I was looking for the manual but couldn't find it. I see it is "hidden".
