Keep Improving, Pleease add FBX, Collada, and Lightwave
I like the tool however adding rigged Figure poly reduction support would be real cool. Please progress :
Good day, jurandm
We are currently working on import/export to/from FBX, it's mostly working but for the animation and pose transforms, I hope to be finished with that soon, but it will take time to check it and release it.
If it's urgent for you, please comment and we shall offer you beta version (no animations) sooner.
Sincerely,
Tatiana
That's fantastic news Tatiana. I have many animated figures to convert to various resolutions. Maintaining animations and pose is not as critical as maintaining bone to polygon group and/or weight mapping unimesh figures.
Great to hear from you, dreamcuttter!
As I said before that is exactly what we are working on right now.
Comment if you wish to get a beta version as soon as it is available.
Sincerely,
Tatiana
seriously!!?? that would be super great! animation are things that I don't need so if beta works fine except that, then its perfectly fine for my needs ! yes please!
That would be great to test the beta. I develop Poser, DAZ and Vue 3d animated content for PoserWorld.com and we have many types of figures and models to test with.
Good day, jurandm, dreamcutter!
Happy to tell that the coding is mostly done (including animations),
so now we need to prepare the beta version for you.
Stay tuned, both of you will get it soon (I hope)!
And looking forward for the feedback!
Best,
Tatiana
great
Yeah, from my side I will test it from photogrammetry kind of view so decimation of super dense UDIM models (currently 149 obj but hope to drop my FBX directly from zbrush ). Cant wait and really happy to see update after so many years I found that software how long ago? 6 months? and I gonna grab update so quickly
Have nice day then and good luck with everything
Sure, jurandm
Thank you for you kind words and great wishes!
You will get the beta version as soon as we finish it and we shall be happy to get you feedback!
Great day to you,
Tatiana
Hi there,
So in past month I reach part of workflow that required export 440mln quad model with UDIM setup.
Not sure how long would take export FBX from zbrush (that you working on)but for smaller files, 3D position is changed if I import it to other software from zbrush (weird, maybe wrong data read or something), so I found that ABC file works really nice (it save really small, dosn't change 3D space position, keep udim's). Im not sure how looks implementation of various file formats to read (for sure it take time from what I see about FBX) but I thought it might be useful somehow to share my discovery
Atm current workflow is
- export multi subtool model from Zbrush as ABC
- import it to Metashape and export as OBJ
- import to balancer for decimation
And up there is that newest 3D standard called "USD" that from what I heard, is source open (zbrush already implemented it but to be honest, I don't have anything else that could open it xD )
So yeah in summary.
- I found really nice and 100% working workflow with ABC files (take time, but works! )
- FBX need to be checked from perspective of export multi subtool model from Zbrush and keeping correct 3D position in space
- ABC format as something that works better than FBX from zbrush (personal opinion)
- USD as future file standard pushed by I think Disney? Pixar?
Thank you, jurandm
for the detailed info, I must admit I am not familiar with ABC format,
but I shall have a look at it, as soon as we prepare a beta version for
you, it does take some time, but I believe it's very close to be done,
Stay tuned and I shall contact you soon!
Best,
Tatiana
jurandm, let me know which formats are more important.
I've neve seen USD too, so I would love some idea how and where
both ABC and USD are used.
Thank you!
If that something that I can pick. Then
1) ABC
2) USD
3) FBX
About USD, as I said, Zbrush is able to use it (and considering how uber long take for Pixologic to add something is super impressive), Maya and others I think is standard (but i never use those, maybe Blender, so hard to say). Couple people around photogrammetry (working for VFX) agree its super nice format and can't wait to see it more and more.
Its still big unknown but apparently, smarter people than me already decided

There is example file I need decimate - its subD1 so normaly it would be 16x more dens. All exported from zbrush.
- obj
- FBX
- ABC
- USD
Thank you for the feedback again, jurandm FBX IS done, shall be out in a few days.
One more question, do you use 64 version?
We did not plan to build the 32 version, so I would love to know!
Thank you!
Good day again jurandm
I've loaded both FBX and OBJ with no problem, just one note, the model has inverted normals, probably on purpose, but I am not sure.
its a inside of room so yeah, looks correctly
i miss question about 32/64 - 64 only, Wish that 32 bit die globally at last xD
Thank you again! sounds great
Yep, would be great to see FBX (at least export)
