Model cannot be simplified

Hi,
As an experiment I tried simplifying a Blender model (which Blender can decimate fine). However, it was unable to simplify it at all -- it could only show the original model as output.

Your model has duplicated uv coordinates. You can inspect this
by turning boundaries on - you will see a lot of uv boundaries.
To solve this, just apply 'Join texture coordinates' from Menu/Tools
before simplifying the model.
In general, it is recommended to turn on automatic joining of
uvs and normals upon the model loading
in 'Tools/Options/Importers/Apply after Importing'.
This will be the default options in the future versions.
